The story
One seedling, then a county
The modern Anyue lemon story is traced to 1929, when lemon material was introduced into the county. Nearly a century of selection and cultivation turned that beginning into a landscape of orchards across the central Sichuan hills.
A lemon shaped by purple soil
Anyue lies in gently rolling country with deep, mainly purple parent soils and a humid subtropical climate. Local selection from Eureka lemon established the fruit now sold under the county's protected name.
From a county name to world markets
Anyue Lemon is protected both as a geographical-indication product and a certification mark. It is also protected in the European Union as a PGI, while fresh and processed products travel from the county to markets in Asia, Europe and beyond.
