IGSO Standard 02
Freshness you can verify.
Not just a claim â a certified timeline. Every product certified under the IGSO Freshness Standard carries an immutable freshness record that begins the moment the label is printed. No resets. No relabeling. No guesswork.
What Is Certified Freshness?
Most freshness claims are just words on a package. IGSO Freshness Certification is different â it's a machine-enforced, tamper-proof timeline that tells you exactly when a product was packed, how fresh it is right now, and what's happened to it along the way.
When you see an IGSO Freshness Certified product, you're looking at a product whose freshness has been independently verified â not by the producer, not by the retailer, but by the IGSO system itself.
How Freshness Certification Works
The Clock Starts at F0
The moment the IGSO label is printed and applied at the packing facility, the official freshness clock begins. This is called F0 â the certified freshness starting point. No one can backdate it. No one can delay it.
Freshness Runs Automatically
Once the clock starts, it cannot be stopped, paused, or reset. The system automatically tracks elapsed time. Producers and retailers have no way to adjust or manipulate the freshness record.
Verified at Certified Checkpoints
When the product passes through an IGSO äŋįå (True Cert Zone) or a certified Truth Node, its arrival is automatically recorded and verified. These certified checkpoints provide trusted proof of where the product has been and when.
Cross-Verified for Integrity
The freshness timeline is cross-checked against certified checkpoint records. Any mismatch between the timeline and verified locations creates an automatic integrity flag. Freshness fraud becomes detectable and preventable.
Why Certified Freshness Matters
Trust what you buy.
You're not relying on a sell-by date printed by the producer. You're seeing a system-verified freshness record that no one can falsify.
Know where your food has been.
Every IGSO Freshness Certified product carries a traceable journey â from the packing facility to the shelf in front of you, verified at certified checkpoints along the way.
Reward genuine quality.
Certified freshness enables fair pricing that reflects real product quality. Fresher products command their true value. Products further along their freshness timeline become smart value choices â still quality-checked, still good.
Less waste. More transparency.
When freshness is transparent, good food doesn't get thrown away because of arbitrary dates. Consumers can make informed choices, and less food goes to waste.

Backed by IGSO
The IGSO Freshness Standard (STD-02) is one of six technology-backed agricultural standards established by the International Growers Standards Organization (IGSO).
IGSO standards are not paper documents â they are living systems of truth. Every identity, certified checkpoint, and safety verification is digitally recorded, tamper-proof, and globally readable.
This is the new infrastructure of trust for food.
