China has the world's largest portfolio of Geographic Indication products. Getting them trusted abroad is a different problem — and it runs through Hong Kong.

A Geographic Indication turns a place into a promise — Champagne, Parma ham, Wuchang rice. China holds one of the world's largest bodies of these protected products. Yet most of that trust never reaches the buyer. That gap is the opportunity.

A container of verified durian is worth more than a container of durian. That gap — between verified and unverified — is not a premium. It is new money. And nobody is pricing it yet.

The standard model of agricultural standards is producer-first. That model is backwards. The next revolution will begin not on farms — but at wholesale markets, where verification becomes a condition of access.
